CULT Food Science Corp. is celebrating a significant milestone as its venture arm, Jellatech, has been chosen to participate in the Bezos Earth Fund's new $30 million research center at North Carolina State University. This initiative, known as the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein, is dedicated to advancing sustainable protein production through academia and industry collaboration.
The center will be a hub for developing new technologies, training the emerging workforce, and understanding consumer preferences for protein alternatives. Jellatech’s innovative work producing animal-free, native collagen aligns with the center's mission to create environmentally friendly and affordable dietary proteins.
Mitchell Scott, CEO of CULT Food Science, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, "Jellatech’s inclusion in the Bezos Earth Fund’s new research center is a testament to their pioneering work in cellular agriculture."
He also highlighted the potential growth and value this partnership could bring to CULT Food Science's shareholders, particularly in light of their recent Memorandum of Understanding with Jellatech to launch a line of collagen-enhanced pet foods.
As Canada's only publicly traded company focused on cellular agriculture, CULT Food Science could be in a position to lead the field, driving innovation and expanding its reach in the food science sector.
