Lab-grown foie gras draws support from French government, European Union

French startup, Gourmey, announced investments of $10m to establish production facilities in Paris for its flagship cultivated meat product. Slaughter-free foie gras, expected to market as early as 2022, will offer consumers a sustainable alternative to a traditional delicacy banned in half a dozen countries and counting due to ethical concerns.
