Wildebeest, Impala, and More Coming to the Cultivated Menu

South Africa’s Mogale Meat Co. is cultivated meat from wildlife including wildebeest, impala, and springbok. The company, founded in October 2020, developed the country’s first cultivated chicken and says the first product could be ready this year, with commercial production planned within three years. Mogale Meat Co. was founded by wildlife veterinarian and founder of the Wildlife Biological Resource Centre Dr. Paul Bartels with the mission to support a growing population while protecting Africa’s biodiversity. The company is in Pretoria, one of South Africa’s capitals. Mzansi Meat Co. which developed Africa’s first beef burger is in Cape Town, another of the country’s capitals.
